Jarred & Jenn are a very cool couple I met last year. Their wedding was at the elegant Chicago School of Art’s Institute Ballroom. The ballroom has incredible architecture and made for a perfect setting for wedding photographs. I’m grateful to have been a part of their wedding day! Here is a small collection of highlights.

I’m pretty stoked to have several of my landscape images featured in this months Antidull Online Art Magazine. The Art Photography issue #2 on about page 28 features 2 of my images. If you’ve been in Chicago lately, you may be able to relate to one of those images with this year’s winter. For more of my landscape work, have a look at my landscape photography website.
What makes a great wedding image? Creamy, soft bokuh—that out of focus background. Yes, this technique is great and often times perfect when you really want to make the subject stand out from the surroundings. I use this technique often especially during many of the photojournalistic moments and casual portraits.
What can be more difficult, yet much more rewarding when done right is being able to integrate the landscape surroundings with the wedding subject into an image, especially in the Midwest where we have no mountains. I’ve been photographing landscape images for many years which has had a positive influence on my wedding imagery.

Mark & Karissa had a destination wedding in the Turks & Caicos which are in the Caribbean just southeast of the Bahamas. This place was truly spectacular for a wedding, and made for a very intimate affair. Here is just a small glimpse. I especially like the beach images.

I’ve really fallen behind with my blogging with all the end of year craziness. Hopefully I will be all caught up by this weekend.
Here are some of my favorite images from Anthony and Katies’s wedding. Many of these were at Naperville’s Riverwalk which has some spectacular backgrounds in the fall timeframe.

Mike who is a good friend of mine and has his own photography studio asked me if I would photograph his brother Pete’s wedding as he would be part of the wedding party. Pete and Darlene really liked my work and we really hit it off when we met. These two were so into each other I coudn’t help but get great photos. They had their wedding at Montefiori in Lemont which has beautiful, lush landscape complete with waterfalls. Here are a few images.

One of the many wonderful things about doing this work is all the great people you get to meet. I met Quang & Rachel through another couple I photographed earlier in the year. Their wedding was top-notch and filled with extraordinary details. The reception was at Esplanade Lakes by Doubletree which has very unique architecture making for some really cool photographs. Here are just a few of my favorites from the day.

The ceremonies were both traditional Indian Zarastrian and Hindu. Here are just a very few of my favorites images.
